Taylon Bieldt is a South African athlete specializing in the 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles. She is the African champion and All-African Games Silver medalist. Her personal best is 12.76 sec in 100m hurdles and 54.91 sec in 400m hurdles.
Taylon Bieldt was born on November 4, 1998, in South Africa. She started in athletics as a kid and initially trained in sprints, before turning to the hurdles. In 2014, she became the Gaborone African Youth Games champion and competed at the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games in 100m hurdles.
In 2015, Taylon Bieldt won the gold at the Bloemfontein South African U18 Championships in 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles. She also earned the silver at the Cali IAAF World Youth Championships in the 4x400m relay and competed in 100m hurdles, but remained out of the finals. During the season she won the gold at the Apia Commonwealth Youth Games in 100m hurdles.
Taylon Bieldt won her first national medal in 2016, winning the bronze at the Stellenbosch South African Championships in 100m hurdles. During the season she finished 7th at the Bydgoszcz IAAF World U20 Championships and 4th at the Durban African Championships.
In 2017, Taylon Bieldt won the 100m hurdles gold at the Cape Town South African U20/U18 Championships and Tlemcen African U20 Championships, but also finished 5th at the Potchefstroom South African Championships. She also earned the bronze at the Cape Town South African University Championships.
Taylon Bieldt won her first national title in 2018, triumphing at the Pretoria South African Championships in 100m hurdles. During the season she defended her title at the Sasolburg South African University Championships.
In 2019, Taylon Bieldt defended her 100m hurdles title at the Germiston South African Championships but also earned the bronze at the Rabat African Games. In the 4x100m relay, she earned the silver at the Rabat African Games, while in the 4x400m relay competed at the Napoli Universiade but finished 7th.
The season 2020 was quite short due to the coronavirus pandemic, so Taylon Bieldt succeeded in achieving some local victories only. She triumphed at the Pretoria AGN Championships in 400m hurdles and 400m, as well as at the Newton Classic Shoot-out in 300m.
In 2021, Taylon Bieldt won the gold at the 32° Meeting Internazionale Di Atletica Leggera Sport e Solidarieta and the silver at the 14° Triveneto Meeting Internazionale and Gyulai Istvan Memorial Hungarian Athletics Grand Prix in 100m hurdles. In 400m hurdles, she won the bronze at the Pretoria South African Championships and Spitzen Leichtathletik in Luzern. During the season she also competed at the Chorzow World Athletics Relays but did not reach the final.
In 2022, Taylon Bieldt won another bronze at the Cape Town South African Championships in 400m hurdles. In the same discipline, she won the silver at the St Pierre African Athletics Championships, while in the 4x400m relay won the gold. She also finished 4th at the Birmingham XXII Commonwealth Games in the 4x400m relay. Taylon Bieldt won the 400m hurdles silver at the Karlstad GP and ASA Athletics Grand Prix 4. At the ASA Athletics Grand Prix 3 she won the gold, while at the Meeting Madrid won the bronze. Taylon Bieldt competed at the Eugene World Athletics Championships but remained out of the finals.
Taylon Bieldt started the 2023 season strongly, winning the 400m hurdles silver at the Potchefstroom South African Championships, as well as the bronze at the 62nd Ostrava Golden Spike and Meeting International de Sotteville 2023. In the same event, she also earned the gold at the ASA Athletics Grand Prix 1 in Pretoria, as well as the silver medals at the ASA Athletics Grand Prix 2 in Johannesburg and ASA Athletics Grand Prix 3 in Potchefstroom. She earned the 100m hurdles gold at the Meeting Sport e Solidarieta Lignano, as well as the silver at the Meeting Stanislas Nancy. She competed also at the Budapest World Athletics Championships in 100m hurdles but remained without an honor.
