Tay-Leiha Clark

Tay-Leiha Clark is an Australian track and field athlete, who competes in the long jump and triple jump. She is a Youth Olympic Games silver medalist and multiple national medalist. Her personal best in the long jump is 6.38m and in the triple jump is 13.26m.

Tay-Leiha Clark was born on February 8, 1998. She started in athletics from an early age, competing in different events, but finally specialized in the long jump and the triple jump.

Tay-Leiha Clark started her competitive career in 2012, taking part at the Sydney Premiership in the long jump and the Hobart Australian All Schools Championships in the high jump.

In 2013, she won the high jump gold at the Perth Australian U16 Championships and Sydney NSW All Schools Championships, as well as the gold at the Sydney NSW U16 Championships in the long jump and triple jump and the long jump silver at the Townsville Australian All Schools Championships and the triple jump gold at the Sydney NSW All Schools Championships.

Tay-Leiha Clark continued gaining experience in 2014, concentrating mostly in the triple jump and long jump. At the Sydney Australian U18 Championships and Sydney NSW Junior Championships, she won the long jump silver and triple jump gold in both. During the season she achieved her first major international award, winning the triple jump silver at the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games. In the next season, she won the long jump silver and the triple jump gold at the Sydney Australian U18 Championships, as well as the triple jump gold at the Sydney NSW Championships and Campbelltown NSW Pre Departure.

In 2016, Tay-Leiha Clark debuted at the national championships, finishing 4th in the triple jump and 6th in the long jump at the Sydney Australian Championships. During the season she won the triple jump gold medals at the Canberra Summer Series, Sydney NSW U20 & U18 & U17 Championships, and Perth Australian U20 Championships.

In 2017, Tay-Leiha Clark won her first national medal, earning the triple jump silver and the long jump bronze at the Sydney Australian Championships. She also won the bronze at the Brisbane Carlee Beattie Shield and Canberra Summer of Athletics Grand Prix in the long jump.

Tay-Leiha Clark won the triple jump bronze at the Gold Coast Australian Championships in 2018. She also finished 4th in the long jump.

In 2019, Tay-Leiha Clark started competing internationally, winning the long jump bronze at the Meeting International de la Province de Liege and the silver at the Gent Feestenmeeting. Locally she won the gold at the Sydney NSW Championships in the triple jump and the bronze at the Canberra Track Classic in the long jump.

Tay-Leiha Clark missed the 2020 season and returned to the track in 2021, with another long jump title at the Sydney NSW Open Championships. In the same event, she also won the silver at the Canberra Super Summer Series and finished 5th at the Sydney Australian Championships.

In 2022, Tay-Leiha Clark competed at the Brisbane Track Classic, Sydney Australian Championships, and JML Levitate Invite in Miami, Florina, but failed to win a medal.

However, Tay-Leiha Clark returned on the winning path in 2023, earning the long jump bronze at the Auckland Sir Graeme Douglas International. She also finished 9th at the Brisbane Australian Championships and 12th at the Canberra ACT U20 & Open Championships in the same event.
