Luminosa Bogliolo is an Italian track and field athlete, who competes in hurdles. She won a gold at the 2019 Summer Universiade and a silver medal at the 2018 Mediterranean Games. Luminosa Bogliolo is also a Diamond League gold medalist and competed at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Luminosa Bogliolo was born on July 3, 1995, in Albenga, Italy. She started in athletics as a kid, showing great physics and skills.
Luminosa Bogliolo started her competitive career in 2011, competing at the Rieti Italian U18 Championships in 100m hurdles, where finished 8th. During the season, she competed also at the Macerata Italian Club Championships in the same event, where finished 4th. Meanwhile, she 100m earned silver at the Imperia Italian Club Championships and 200m silver at the Celle Ligure Meeting Arcobaleno.
In 2012, Luminosa Bogliolo earned her first junior national title, triumphing with the 100m hurdles gold at the Firenze Italian U18 Championships. She also earned the 60m hurdles silver at the Aosta Trofeo Sandro Calvesi, as well as the 100m bronze at the Savona Italian Club Championships.
In 2013, Luminosa Bogliolo competed at the Geneve AtletiCAGeneve and Rieti Italian Junior Championships in 100m hurdles but failed to earn honors. However, she won the 200m silver and 100m bronze at the Genova Regional Championships.
Luminosa Bogliolo continued gaining experience and earning local medals in 2014. She triumphed in the 100m hurdles gold at the Imperia Regional Championships and Imperia Trofeo Maurina. In the same event, she finished 4th at the Torino Italian Junior Championships. In 60m hurdles, she earned the silver at the Genova Regional Indoor Championships and finished 5th at the Kuldiga Katrina Cup and 8th at the Ancona Italian Junior Indoor Championships.
Luminosa Bogliolo debuted as senior national champions in 2015 but failed to reach the finals at the Torino Italian Championships in 100m hurdles. Meanwhile, she won the 100m hurdles gold at the Genova Italian Club Championships and Genova Italian Club Championships.
In 2016, Luminosa Bogliolo she won the 60m hurdles silver at the Ancona Italian U23 Indoor Championships and finished 8th at the Ancona Italian Indoor Championships. During the outdoor season, she won the 100m hurdles gold at the Modena Italian University Championships, Bressanone Italian U23 Championships, Sesto Fiorentino Regional Championships, and Genova Regional Championships. At the Rieti Italian Championships, however, she failed to reach the finals again.
Luminosa Bogliolo started the 2017 season by winning the 60m hurdles silver at the Ancona Italian U23 Indoor Championships and finished 5th at the Ancona Italian Indoor Championships. During the outdoor season, she won the 100m hurdles gold at the Firenze Italian U23 Championships and Catania Italian University Championships, finished 6th at the Trieste Italian Championships, and competed at the Bydgoszcz European U23 Championships and Taipei Universiade.
In 2018, Luminosa Bogliolo established her personal best on 100m hurdles with 12.99 sec and reached the 13th place in the seasonal European lists, thus obtaining the EAA standard and the selection for the 2018 European Athletics Championships. She competed at the Berlin European Athletics Championships but again failed to reach the finals. However, Luminosa Bogliolo triumphed with her first national title, winning the 100m hurdles gold at the Pescara Italian Championships. Meanwhile, she won the 100m hurdles silver at the Padova Meeting Citta di Padova and Tarragona Mediterranean Games.
In 2019, Luminosa Bogliolo won the 60m hurdles title at the Italian Indoor Championships and competed at the Glasgow European Indoor Championships, where failed to qualify for the finals. During the outdoor season, she won the 100m hurdles gold at the Napoli Universiade, Bressanone Italian Championships, and Bydgoszcz European Athletics Team Championships, as well as Resisprint International, Meeting Stanislas Nancy, Meeting International Citta di Savona, and Kamila Skolimowska Memorial. She competed also at the Doha IAAF World Championships in Athletics but failed to reach the finals.
Luminosa Bogliolo made another fantastic season in 2020, winning her Diamond League gold, and triumphing in 100m hurdles at the BAUHAUS-Galan in Stockholm. She also won the silver at the Golden Gala Pietro Mennea in Roma. Meanwhile, Luminosa Bogliolo won the 100m hurdles gold at the Padova Italian Championships, 56th Palio Citta della Quercia, 13th Triveneto Meeting, as well as the silver at the Gala dei Castelli.
In 2021, Luminosa Bogliolo started hesitantly the indoor season, but in the end, finished 6th in 60m hurdles at the Torun European Athletics Indoor Championships. Meanwhile, she finished 4th at the Copernicus Cup and 7th at the Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais. During the outdoor season, she earned the 100m hurdles gold at the Rovereto Italian Championships, the silver at the 10° Meeting International Citta di Savona and Chorzow European Athletics Team Championships Super League, as well as the Diamond League’s bronze at the Muller Grand Prix Gateshead. She competed at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics but failed to reach the finals.
Luminosa Bogliolo competed at the World Athletics Indoor Tour in 2022 but failed to earn a medal. However, she earned the 60m hurdles silver at the Ancona Italian Indoor Championships. During the outdoor season, she won the 100m hurdles gold at the 15° Triveneto Meeting Internazionale and silver at the 11° Meeting International Citta Di Savona. She won the silver at the XXV Meeting Internazionale Citta di Nembro and competed at the Munich European Athletics Championships.
